Officers from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information following a collision in Stoke-on-Trent.
At 6:50pm yesterday (Friday 27 May) police received reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a black vehicle on City Road in Fenton.
The pedestrian - a man believed to be in his 30s - was treated at the scene by West Midlands Ambulance Service and taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious injuries.
A 28-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road traffic collision and being in charge of a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
He remains in custody at this time.
Witnesses who may have seen the collision or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage should message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 645 of 27 May or call 101. Alternatively, email the team at [email protected]
