Officers from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Burntwood.
Police were called at 3.15pm on Tuesday (17 May) to Miners Way following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
Officers, paramedics and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended and upon arrival, a driver was found trapped in each vehicle - a black Volkswagen Polo and a grey Volkswagen Golf.
Sadly, the driver of the grey Volkswagen Golf, a local man in his thirties, died at the scene.
Formal identification will take place in due course and specialist officers are supporting his family at this time.
The driver and a passenger from the other car were taken to hospital for further treatment.
A section of Miners Way remained closed for around four hours whilst officers from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Collision Investigation Unit carried out investigation work at the scene.
Witnesses who may have seen the vehicles before the collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter or email [email protected] quoting incident number 516 of 17 May.
