Officers from the Stoke South Neighbourhood Policing Team and partners took to the streets of Hanley to celebrate International Women’s Day with the local community.
Nearly 40 people gathered at a busy Hanley Park to honour the strength and courage of the many inspirational women across the world.
Participants engaged in an array of group activities this afternoon – such as Yoga, Paper Origami, hula-hooping, Bollywood dancing and singing, all accompanied with hot drinks and cakes held at the park’s Café.
From 6pm till 8pm this evening, nearly 300 people are expected at Hanley Park – where officers and the local public will walk side-by-side in appreciation of the millions of women across the world who continue to inspire change within society.
“It was fantastic to see everybody united” said Chief Inspector Robert Hessel.
“Equality is something which Staffordshire Police upholds with paramount importance – whether this is in respect to our officers and colleagues or members of the public.
“We are committed to further developing our relationship with the community and driving these values into the ethos of everything we do as a force.”
