A 42-year-old man from Cannock has been jailed after pleading guilty to child sexual offences which saw him in possession of over 100 indecent images and videos.
Ian Manderfield, of North Street, Cannock, was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday 1 March.
He was jailed for three years and ten months for three counts of making indecent photographs of a child, three counts of distributing indecent images, two counts of being in possession of an extreme pornographic image and publishing an obscene article.
Manderfield has also been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register and issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The court heard how officers attended an address on 14 October 2020 at around 7.15am.
A search was carried out at the address and mobile phones were seized.
Manderfield was found to be in possession of 108 indecent images and videos combined, 37 of which deemed Category A – the most serious classification.
The images were created between February 2017 and October 2020.
Manderfield was also found to be in possession of being in possession of three extreme pornographic images.
On 4 January 2021, Manderfield was arrested on suspicion of distributing indecent images and publishing an obscene article.
The offences relate to images and videos distributed between April 2020 and October 2020, 24 of which were classed as Category A.
Within the same time period, Manderfield published an obscene article of a victim.
He pleaded guilty to all the offences at a hearing at Stafford Crown Court on 22 November 2021.
Reflecting on the sentencing, DC Christopher Lovatt of the force’s Child Protection and Exploitation Team, said: “I welcome this sentence and I hope it serves as a reminder that we will take all of the necessary steps to convict these criminals for their sinister acts.”
