Detectives are investigating after a man was seriously assaulted in Fenton.
Police officers found a man on Edward Street just after 2am this morning (Saturday 12 March) with a serious head injury.
It is believed he was assaulted with a machete after a large group of youths reportedly kicked a vehicles and front doors on Edward Street.
He was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious head injuries.
Another man received facial injuries after he was assaulted prior to this attack by the same group, but did not require hospital treatment.
Two of the youths were reported to be wearing grey Adidas tracksuits, another was wearing a red top, another was wearing a North Face reflector jacket and another was wearing a lighter-coloured hooded jacket, dark trousers and a hooded top underneath which was two-tone with a white horizontal strip going across the middle.
Anyone with any information, CCTV or dashcam footage should message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 64 of 12 March, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
