A man and a woman have been arrested over drugs offences following two stop-and-searches in East Staffordshire yesterday (Thursday 10 March).
Officers stopped a white Seat Ibiza at around 11.15am on Chellaston Road in Derby.
The driver, a man from the Stretton area, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supply of cocaine.
A mobile phone was seized by officers.
Officers later carried out an related stop-and-search of a woman in Burton.
A large quantity of cocaine was discovered.
A 20-year-old woman was arrested a short time later on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine.
A subsequent search of an address in Burton revealed a number of knives, a quantity of cash, mobile phones and scales.
Both the man and the woman have since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
