A man and a woman have been arrested over drugs offences following two stop-and-searches in East Staffordshire yesterday (Thursday 10 March).
Officers stopped a white Seat Ibiza at around 11.15am on Chellaston Road in Derby. The driver, a man from the Stretton area, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supply of cocaine. A mobile phone was seized by officers. Officers later carried out an related stop-and-search of a woman in Burton. A large quantity of cocaine was discovered. A 20-year-old woman was arrested a short time later on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine. A subsequent search of an address in Burton revealed a number of knives, a quantity of cash, mobile phones and scales.
