A 15-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a road traffic collision on the A50 in Stoke-on-Trent.
Police were attempting to stop a Vauxhall Corsa at 3.37am this morning (16 March), which was travelling along Victoria Road, Fenton. At 3.40am, the vehicle was travelling along the A50, at the junction of Upper Normacot Road, when it collided with a wall on Uttoxeter Road.
The driver and two passengers, all aged 15-years-old, were injured. All were taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance. The driver’s condition is described as stable. The two passengers, both from Stoke-on-Trent, received minor injuries and have been discharged from hospital.
The two passengers, both from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to the police activity prior to the collision.
