Officers are appealing for witnesses, CCTV or dashcam footage, after a man sustained life-threatening injuries in a collision involving a car and a lorry in Burton yesterday (Thursday 17 March).
Police were called at 6.20am on Thursday to Derby Road, close to the A38 junction in Burton-upon-Trent.
Upon arrival, officers found a white lorry and a white Citroen Berlingo in collision.
A man, the driver and sole occupant of the Citroen, was removed from vehicle by fire crews and conveyed to hospital by the ambulance service having sustained life-threatening internal injuries.
He remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
The lorry driver sustained minor injuries and is currently assisting officers with their inquiries.
Anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant dashcam footage of the area prior to the collision is asked to contact us.
