Officers are appealing for information after a 19-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries in a collision in Cannock this morning (Sunday 20 March).
Police were called at around 12.45am this morning to Old Hednesford Road, Cannock, following reports of a crash involving two cars.
Officers attended along with Highways, paramedics and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Upon arrival, officers found a black Volkswagen Golf and a black Volkswagen Passat involved in a collision.
A male passenger was found in the rear seat of the Passat.
A 40-year-old man, from Cannock, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The 19-year-old man was treated at the scene and shortly after conveyed by land ambulance to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The drivers of each vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Officers temporarily closed Old Hednesford Road, Cannock, which has since been reopened.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time to get in touch.
