A woman has been jailed for eight years for the manslaughter of her boyfriend in Burton last July.
Kayley Susan Mahood, 30, of Rosliston Road, Stapenhill, was sentenced this afternoon (Thursday 27 January) at Stafford Crown Court after she was found guilty of the manslaughter of 31-year-old Oliver O’Toole following a trial on Tuesday (25 July).
Police were called to Rosliston Road, just after midday on 25 July 2021 to reports that a man had been stabbed in the left side of his chest. Tragically, despite the best efforts of paramedics, Oliver died at the scene.
Mahood was arrested at the scene and a knife was found in the kitchen.
DCI Dan Ison, of the force’s Major Investigations Department, said: “I welcome the judge’s sentence. I know no sentence or time in prison can ever bring back a loved one and would like to reiterate our sincere condolences to Oliver’s family and friends.”
