A woman has been found guilty of the manslaughter of her boyfriend in Burton last July.
Kayley Susan Mahood, 30, of Rosliston Road, Stapenhill, was convicted of the manslaughter of 31-year-old Oliver O’Toole in their home following a trial at Stafford Crown Court today.
Police were called to Rosliston Road, just after midday on 25 July 2021 to reports that a man had been stabbed in the left side of his chest. Tragically, despite the best efforts of paramedics, Oliver died at the scene.
Mahood was arrested at the scene and a knife was found in the kitchen.
DCI Dan Ison, of the force’s Major Investigations Department, said: “Mahood’s actions have destroyed the lives of Oliver’s family and friends. There are no words or verdict which will bring Oliver back. I would like to thank his family who have shown immense strength and courage throughout.”
Mahood is due to be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday (27 January).
