A man has been charged after two police officers were assaulted in a Uttoxeter supermarket.
Police were called at 9.42am on Wednesday (12 January) to Asda on Carters Square, Uttoxeter, following reports of anti-social behaviour.
Officers attended and found a man intoxicated.
A 36-year-old man, from the Uttoxeter area, was arrested at the scene.
Stuart Roberts, 36, of Park Street, Uttoxeter, was later charged with assault of an emergency worker, obstruction of an officer in the course of their duty and using threatening words and behaviour likely to cause distress.
He has since been placed on police bail ahead of a court appearance due at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 27 January.
Two officers were taken to hospital in Burton for precautionary checks following the incident.
