Officers are appealing for information after two motorbikes were driven dangerously in Tunstall, one close to a school.
Police were first called to Queens Avenue at around 2.40pm on Monday (7 February) following reports of suspicious activity.
Officers attended and spotted one motorbike with two male riders who, upon seeing the officers, mounted the curb outside a school and attempted to drive down a nearby footpath.
The bike was later found discarded in an alleyway close by, after the offenders made their escape on foot, in the direction of St Chads Road.
The abandoned bike did not have a registration plate and neither riders were wearing helmets.
Another motorbike, which had been in convoy with the discarded bike, was then driven dangerously away from the scene by a third offender.
This motorbike, described as red motocross-style bike, has since been recovered.
Thankfully, no one was reported injured in the incidents.
The two offenders on the subsequently abandoned bike are described as white males, around 5ft’6in to 6ft in height and were seen wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, with one wearing a green tracksuit.
Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the incidents or may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time to get in touch.
