A man has been charged with a number of offences following a proactive search in Stoke-on-Trent.
We spotted an orange BMW on Waterloo Road at 11.30pm on Saturday (10 December). The car came to a stop and both occupants were spoken to by officers. We searched the car and found a wooden bat inside.
Arian Mohammedi Rashid, aged 19, of Newcastle Street, Burslem, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a license.
He was released on unconditional police bail ahead of a court appearance at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 3 January 2023.
A 17-year-old boy, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of being carried in a motor vehicle taken without the owner’s consent.
He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
