A total of five people have been arrested after cash and suspected Class A drugs were seized during drugs raids.

As part of an ongoing operation to target drug supply in the north of the county, officers successfully executed warrants at various addresses in areas including Burslem, Middleport, Goldenhill, Cross Heath and Biddulph this morning (Wednesday 14 December).

Colleagues from Cheshire Constabulary also executed two search warrants at addresses in Alsager to support the investigation.

Officers seized cash, suspected Class A drugs, drug paraphernalia and mobile phones.

They also made five arrests:

A 19-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to supply a Class A controlled drug.
A 23-year-old man, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.
A 28-year-old woman from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to supply a Class A controlled drug.
A 29-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A.
A 36-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drug.

They all remain in police custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Tim Boulton, from the force’s Major and Organised Crime Unit, said: “The raids we carried out today are part of an extensive, ongoing operation, set up to tackle drug supply in North Staffordshire and across the border into Cheshire.

“I hope this activity and arrests serve as a warning to those involved in this type of crime.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to stress to the public that any information - no matter how big or small you may think it may be - really can prove invaluable.

“Intelligence we receive can shape our operations, and we often rely on this information received from members of the community.

"I would encourage anyone with any information or concern to contact the police, whether in person, by telephone on 101 or online at: Report | Staffordshire Police

“You can also anonymously contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
