We are appealing for witnesses after what we believe to be a deliberate fire in a residential area of the Staffordshire Moorlands.
At around 11.40pm last night (21 December) we received a report of a fire at an address on Cheltenham Avenue in Cheadle.
The blaze was extinguished by colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service who later deemed the cause of the fire to be as a result of a deliberate ignition.
Fortunately, no one was inside of the property at the time of the fire, but significant damage was caused to the stairwell and surrounding area.
Anyone who was in the area prior to the fire or who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is asked contact us on Facebook, Twitter, or call 101, quoting incident 038 of 22 December.
Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
