A man and a woman have been charged for brothel and violence offences.
Police attended a residential address off Shelton Old Road, Stoke-on-Trent, just before 5.55pm on 28 October 2021 following reports of a suspected brothel operating in Stoke-on-Trent.
Witnesses also reported, a man in his 20s, had been assaulted by a group of three men.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
A 26-year-old man, from London, was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and section 18 - grievous bodily harm with intent.
Petru-Cezar Carp, of Marischal Road, has since been charged with section 18 - grievous bodily harm with intent.
He is currently on police bail and is due to appear before North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 1 September.
A 32-year-old woman, from Crewe, was also arrested on suspicion of causing/inciting prostitution for gain, conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, fraud by false representation, keeping/managing a brothel used for prostitution, managing/assisting in the management of a heterosexual brothel and being in possession of class B drugs - cannabis/cannabis resin.
Nicoleta Dobra, of Nantwich Road, has since been charged with keeping/managing a brothel used for prostitution.
She is due to appear before North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 20 September and is on bail.
