A man from Burton-upon-Trent has been jailed for drug offences.
Zakariya Farah, 23, of Wood Street, Burton, was sentenced to three years in prison at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday (9 August), after admitting two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of class B drugs.
The court heard how police witnessed an exchange between Farah and two men on Wood Street on 18 May 2022.
Following a stop and search, Farah was found to be in possession of 47 wraps of class A drugs and two mobile phones.
A further search of his home address revealed further wraps of class A drugs, cannabis vegetation and other drug-related paraphernalia.
Speaking following sentencing, Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury, of the force’s Disruption Team South, said: “Drug dealers and their associated criminality bring misery to so many, often to those most vulnerable in our communities.
“I’m pleased with the sentence handed to Farah and hope it shows how we will continue to do all we can to disrupt the drugs supply in Staffordshire.”
