Officers are continuing to investigate an unexplained death in Stoke-on-Trent.
Police were called to an address at Cromwell Court, Stoke-on-Trent, at around 6.30pm on Monday (8 August), following reports of a sudden death.
Officers attended as did colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.
Sadly, a 37-year-old man was pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
Officers are currently awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination which is due to take place later today (Wednesday 10 August).
Formal identification is yet to take place.
A 45-year-old man, of no-fixed address, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police remain at the scene today while inquiries continue.
