Officers are appealing for information after a lorry and its content were stolen before the vehicle was dumped in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers were called to Werrington Road in Bucknall, just before 11am on Sunday (14 August) following reports of theft.
The victim, a lorry driver, reported that his blue DAF lorry had been stolen from a premises on Dewsbury Road, Fenton.
The theft took place sometime overnight between Saturday (13 August) and Sunday (14 August).
A ladder, two battery drills, a lorry key and a radio were also reported stolen from the vehicle.
It was later seen on Victoria Road, heading in the direction of King Street, just before 2.40am on Sunday (14 August).
It has since been recovered on Werrington Road in Bucknall.
Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time of the theft.
