Two men have been jailed for 12-months each after pleading guilty to a spate of burglaries in Stoke-on-Trent.

Reece Lowndes and Ryan Lowndes, both 25, of Holdcroft Road, Stoke-on-Trent, were sentenced at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Thursday (7 April) where both men were given 12-months imprisonment and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £156 each.

Both men were sentenced having pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary other than dwelling – theft at an earlier hearing on 15 March 2022.

The court heard how both men broke into a garage on Mayfield Crescent, Northwood, in November 2021 and stole a cement mixer, worth £400.

Both men also returned to the same garage between 1 December 2021 – 4 December 2021 having stolen a set of ladders, valued at £150.

Between 1 December 2021 – 13 December 2021, both offenders entered a business premises on Eaves Lane, Bucknall, and stole a DeWalt battery and charger.

The offenders also entered the same premises on 13 December 2021 where a Laser Level was stolen.

Two days later (15 December 2021), both men entered the rear of a property near Bagnall Road, Baddeley Green, and damaged a shed door.

A blue Merida mountain bike was stolen, worth £500.

Speaking following the sentencing, Inspector Hayley Eaton of Staffordshire Police, said: “Each offence had a profound impact on those targeted.

“We’re pleased with the sentence handed to them by the court.

“We hope it acts as a deterrent for anyone wishing to commit similar crimes in our county.”
