A man has appeared in court charged with assault following a number of reported incidents involving women in Stoke-on-Trent.
Damien Lawrence, 38, of Union Street, Hanley, was detained on Leek New Road on Monday (27 September).
Police had been called to four incidents involving women shortly before his arrest.
He was later charged with one count of sexual assault, stalking, harassment, two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, one count of assault by beating as well as theft from a shop and criminal damage.
Lawrence appeared before magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Wednesday 29 September) and was remanded in custody ahead of a further court appearance due at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 1 November 2021.
