Detectives are appealing for witnesses to an assault that occurred in the early hours of this morning (11 September) and left a man in a critical condition in hospital.
Police were called to a report of an assault in the Market Place in Uttoxeter at around 1:50am.
When officers arrived the one male victim needed emergency medical treatment and was taken to hospital by paramedics where he remains.
An 18-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of violence against the person and remains in custody for questioning.
