A man has pleaded guilty to the attempted rape of a woman in Burton.
Jason Thomas Hobson, 39, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at Stafford Crown Court on 5 October.
He also pleaded guilty to sexual assault, two counts of burglary and robbery.
Hobson broke into a property in Burton on 2 February and attempted to rape a woman and then sexually assaulted her. He then demanded money and the victim drove them both to a nearby cashpoint and withdrew £100. He took the money and left. He pleaded guilty to a further burglary in May 2014.
An investigation was launched and he was arrested on 8 February.
Detective Constable Martin Ottey, of the force’s Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Unit, said: “This was undoubtedly a traumatic ordeal for the woman concerned and I cannot praise her enough for the courage and bravery she has shown in coming forward and reporting what happened to her.
“I hope this conviction reassures our local community that sexual offences are taken seriously and that officers will work tirelessly to seek justice.”
Hobson will be sentenced on 8 November.
