Police are appealing for witnesses after two motor vehicles were stolen in the Burntwood area on October 27.
Officers were called to Rake Hill at around 3.30pm, after a woman (a delivery driver) was pulled from her vehicle, a grey Ford Focus, and assaulted by a man getting out of a passing black car. He then got into her car and drove off.
It is reported that a group of white men, in their 20s and believed to be local to the area, were seen in the black vehicle.
The grey Ford Focus was last seen at around 3.35pm on October 27 on Hanney Hay Road.
Officers were also called to Rugeley Road at around 3.35pm following reports of a stolen white Vauxhall Vivaro van.
It is believed the driver of the van was unloading items from the back of the van before the offender got into the driver’s seat and drove off.
It is reported the van was seen going towards Swan Island, believed to be in convoy with the same black car, and headed in the direction of Lichfield.
Steve Bloomer, Investigative Officer at Staffordshire Police, said: “These were shocking offences to steal cars from people who were just going about their business peaceably. Witnesses who may have witnessed these incidents are encouraged to come forward.
“We take these crimes very seriously and work hard to protect our communities across Staffordshire.”
Anyone with information or may have CCTV footage that could help the police with their enquiries, is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 411 and 416 of October 27. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
