A second man has now been arrested in connection with an attack in Stoke-on-Trent.
The attack, which left a man in his 20s with serious injuries, took place just before 11pm on Sunday 9 May in the Church Terrace area of Cobridge. The victim remains in hospital.
A 32-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent remains in custody having been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody at this time.
A 35-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent was detained on suspicion of attempted murder earlier in the week. He has since been released on police bail.
As part of the investigation into the attack, firearms officers have been deployed to several addresses across Stoke-on-Trent over the course of the past few days.
