A 29-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent has been charged in connection with an attack in Cobridge earlier this month.
Islam Mirza of Birches Head Road, who is the third man detained in relation to the incident on Sunday 9 May, has been remanded in custody having been charged with Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
The attack, which left a man in his 20s with serious injuries, took place just before 11pm on Sunday 9 May in the Church Terrace area of Cobridge. The victim remains in hospital.
Two other men, aged 32 and 35 and from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder last week. They have both since been released on police bail.
Enquiries continue.
