A 44-year-old Burton man who was caught dealing heroin in the town has been jailed.
Ian Goring was jailed on June 10 at Stafford Crown Court after pleading guilty to supplying heroin and being concerned in the supply of heroin.
He was jailed for five years and eight months.
The court heard that Goring was seen driving a Renault Megane in Harper Avenue, Burton on 20 October last year. His front seat passenger was Craig Howe.
Officers observed drugs being handed over to a 45-year-old man on a bike who was detained by officers.
Goring and Howe were arrested for supply of heroin with phones and cash seized.
Goring was also sentenced for driving without a licence and insurance. Howe, aged 40, received a two-year community order, four-month curfew, and was disqualified from driving for six months.
Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury, of Staffordshire Police’s Disruptions Team (South), said: “The arrests were part of a policing operation targeting drug dealing in the south of the county. These drugs were for supply and not just personal use.
“We welcome information about drug dealing in our communities and will continue to bring offenders before the courts.”
