Man sent off to jail for stealing football boots and beer

A man who stole beer and football boots from a car in Newcastle-under-Lyme has been sent off to jail.
Ian Lincoln, 57, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary, taking two mountain bikes worth around £1,000 from a garage in Beresford Crescent in Newcastle.
He also pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted burglary in Kingsway West, and theft from a motor vehicle where Adidas football boots, a crate of beer, satnav and phone were taken.
All the offences took place on June 19.
Lincoln was jailed for 18 weeks by magistrates in Newcastle on 26 June.
