Detectives are continuing to investigate following the discovery of a woman’s body in Burton.
Police were called at approximately 4am on Friday 2 July to an area close to Meadowside Leisure Centre, known locally as the Washlands.
Specially-trained officers are supporting the woman’s family.
A small area of woodland was maintained as a scene. This has now been released, and detectives thank the community for their patience whilst an examination took place.
A post mortem has taken place but further tests are required.
A 53-year-old man, from Burton, arrested in connection with the death, has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
