A Birmingham man has been charged with aggravated theft of a car and dangerous driving following a break-in at a property in Aldridge on Monday (Jan 25).
Lee Smythe, aged 35, of Stratford Road, Birmingham, is charged with aggravated taking of a motor vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, possessing a weapon for discharge of a noxious substance, driving without insurance and failing to stop.
He appeared before magistrates today (Jan 27) in Newcastle-under-Lyme and has been remanded to appear at Crown Court on February 24.
Smythe was arrested by officers from West Midlands Police in Birmingham following the burglary in Little Aston Road, Aldridge.
Another man, aged 40 and from Birmingham, arrested in connection with the incident, has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
