Detectives are investigating following a suspected attempted robbery in Tamworth where two vehicles were reportedly used to deliberately stop a car on a residential street.
During the incident it is believed a weapon was used to strike the car which had been forced to stop on St George’s Way in Glascote at around 9.35pm on January 25.
It is believed there were attempts by individuals to remove the driver from the car during the incident. The driver is not thought to have suffered any injuries. Our enquiries into what happened when the car was forced to stop are ongoing.
Armed police were deployed to the scene while officers also conducted an area search to locate the two vehicles used in the incident - thought to be dark coloured Audis. The cars have not yet been located.
An investigation is continuing and officers are viewing CCTV from the area.
