A 58-year-old woman has been jailed over drug offences following a stop-and-search in Burton-upon-Trent.
Heather Bailey, of Sunnyside Park, Sea Lane, Ingoldmells, Skegness, admitted two drug and one weapon offence at Derby Crown Court and was sentenced to two years behind bars at the same court on Friday (17 December).
The court heard how police stopped a black Nissan Juke in Stretton at 1.30pm on Tuesday (27 April).
A quantity of crack cocaine, cash, two mobile phones and a knife was found in the vehicle.
Bailey, the only occupier of the car, was searched and more than £1,000 in cash was found along with a quantity of heroin.
A further search of her home address found further cash, crack cocaine, heroin and other drug-related paraphernalia.
She was arrested and subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin and possession of a bladed article.
She pleaded guilty to all three charges on 13 September 2021.
Speaking following sentencing on Friday, Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury, said: “I am pleased that Bailey admitted her offending and that the judge saw fit to deliver a custodial sentence.
“We will continue to do all we can to disrupt the drugs supply in East Staffordshire and ensure our communities continue to be as safe as possible.”
