A man has been jailed over drug offences following a stop-and-search in Tamworth.
Andrew Edrop, aged 28, of Thornley Street, Burton, was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday (14 December) after pleading guilty to drug offences.
The court heard how Edrop was stopped by officers on Summerfield Road, Tamworth at around 3pm on 13 October.
A quantity of class A drugs, two mobile phones and £287.75 in cash were discovered.
He was arrested and subsequently charged with one count each of possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine.
Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury, of Staffordshire Police Disruption Team South, said: “We are pleased that Edrop admitted the offences in court, after officers stopped him in broad daylight carrying heroin and crack cocaine.
"We will continue to proactively seek out and disrupt drugs activity on the streets of Staffordshire to ensure our communities remain safe places to live."
