Detectives are appealing for information or witnesses to assist in the investigation of the death of a man from Stretton in the early hours of this morning (11 December).
Police were called to a house on Bridgeside, Stretton at around 1:35am following a report of a stabbing. A man, believed to be 19 years of age, was treated at the scene with serious injuries but died a short while later despite the best efforts of medical staff.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed and specially trained officers are providing support at this difficult time. Formal identification of the body is yet to take place.
A scene remains at the address whilst the investigative team work to establish the circumstances leading up to his death. Increased neighbourhood patrols are in the area to assist with evidence gathering and to provide reassurance to the local community.
No arrests have been made at this time.
