Officers are appealing for information over a man being assaulted after he was approached by an unknown group of males in Newcastle.
Police were called at 4.49pm on Friday (17 December) to Brunswick Street following reports of violence.
Officers were informed that three young males, believed to be intoxicated, had approached the lone male victim before one of the offenders had assaulted him.
The victim reported that he was walking along Borough Road in Newcastle at 4.45pm when he was approached.
One offender then headbutted the victim before all three departed in the direction of the town centre via the subway.
The offender who attacked the victim is described as white, about 6ft in height, of stocky build with dark hair and a beard, wearing a black puffa jacket and a black and white-patterned shirt and jeans.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage of the area at the time of the assault to get in touch.
