Officers are appealing for information after a man sustained facial bruising in an assault during an attempted burglary in Burslem.
Police were called at 2.45am on Wednesday (22 December) to an address close to Westport Road.
The victim reported an offender dressed in dark clothing forcing entry into a property while a further offender waited outside.
Once inside, the offender attempted to steal the victim’s car keys before punching the victim three times and making off empty-handed on foot, in the direction of Davenport Street.
Officers are currently appealing for information and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident is asked to get in touch.
