A 28-year-old man from Burton has been jailed after being found guilty of drugs offences.
Scott Rafferty, of Melbourne Avenue, Winshill, was sentenced to six years in jail after being convicted of possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine following two separate incidents earlier this year.
Rafferty was initially arrested on 11 March 2021 after a search warrant was executed at his home address. A large amount of crack cocaine was seized, plus scales, phones and cash. A knuckleduster and blades were also recovered.
The 28-year-old was also arrested after officers carried out a stop and search on a 31-year-old man in Hawfield Road, Winshill on 8 July 2021. Rafferty was detained inside a nearby property after officers carried out a search. Phones, drugs – including heroin and crack, scales, cash, blades and other drug related paraphernalia were found and seized.
The second man was issued a conditional caution after a voluntary interview.
Detective Sergeant Jon Bradbury, of Staffordshire Police’s Disruptions Team (South), said: "We are delighted with the sentencing of Rafferty for his involvement in the supply of drugs in Staffordshire. We hope this serves as a warning to anyone else currently involved in similar activities, or perhaps thinking of becoming so.
"We will continue to pro-actively seek out and disrupt all drugs activity on the streets of Staffordshire in our attempts to make the communities we serve a better place to live."
