Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a road traffic collision in Gnosall.
Officers were called to Newport Road (the A518) at 3.10am on Sunday morning (29 August) to a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a grey Vauxhall Combo van.
Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been formally identified as 33-year-old Matthew Babb, from the Stafford area.
Matthew’s family have been informed and his family are being supported by specially-trained officers.
A 33-year-old man, from the Stafford area, was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance with a shoulder injury and has since been discharged.
Witnesses who may have seen the vehicles before the collision or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 90 of 29 August or call 101.
