Two men have been arrested over firearms offences in Rugeley.
Police were called at 3pm on Thursday (8 April) to Queensway following reports of a group of individuals with weapons.
Officers attended and found a small makeshift shooting range had been set up in nearby parkland.
A total of four weapons were recovered including two air rifles and two air pistols.
A 24-year-old man from Norton Canes and another 24-year-old man from Rugeley were detained on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear.
A woman, aged 19, was also detained and is due to be voluntarily interviewed by officers shortly.
The two men were later released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Sergeant Dave Westwood, of Cannock Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I would like to reassure the community that this was an isolated incident in which we successfully managed to get these dangerous weapons off the streets.”
