A man has been charged following a fatal road traffic collision in Meir, Stoke-on-Trent, last November.
Police were called at 4.05am on 3 November 2020 to a report of a road traffic collision involving an Audi A4 on Sandon Road.
Despite the efforts of emergency service staff, 65-year-old Paul Hammersley, from Stoke-on-Trent, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Rafaqat Abbas, 30, of Lilleshall Street, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and failure to provide a specimen for analysis.
He is due to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 21 May, following an appearance at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 22 April.
