Officers are appealing to the public for any witnesses who may have seen an assault take place in Wiggington Park, Tamworth, on Wednesday 31 March.
The victim, a teenage girl, was attacked by a group of five men at about 5.30pm near to Tamworth Rugby Club who left her with bruising to her face before fleeing potentially via the footpath towards the Co-op store on Fontenaye Road.
The men are described as white, aged about 18 and were all dressed in black clothing and wearing black trainers.
Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time or the group of men fleeing towards Fontenaye Road should message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 706 of 31 March, or alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
