Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating after a fatal road traffic collision in Cannock - which saw a road closed for more than three hours.
Officers were called to Laburnum Avenue shortly before 5:30pm last night (Wednesday 7 April) following reports of a single vehicle collision involving a quad bike.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a 53-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. Specially trained officers are now working to support his family.
Investigating officers are now asking any witnesses to the incident to come forward and ask that anyone who saw a Yamaha quad bike in the area of Laburnum Avenue to get in touch.
We also ask that people refrain from speculating on social media.
Anyone with any information should message Staffordshire Police on Facebook or Twitter quoting incident number 540 of 7 April, call 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
