Woman arrested after girl injured at Stoke-on-Trent address

A woman in her 40s has been arrested after a girl was injured at a house in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers were called to reports of an incident at an address in Chell at around 7.30am yesterday (26 October).
The girl, aged 6, is being treated for her injuries in hospital, which are not life threatening.
The woman, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, is also receiving hospital treatment.
Detective Inspector Lucy Maskew, of Staffordshire Police, said: “We are investigating the circumstances to establish what has happened, but want to reassure the community this is believed to be an isolated incident.”
“We understand there will be concerns but we are kindly urging people not to speculate about identities or what has happened while the investigation continues.”
