A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent after a 15-year-old boy suffered potentially life-changing injuries in Longton.
The arrested boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was allegedly involved in a collision on Baths Road on Sunday (25 Oct) at around 6:30pm when the victim was struck by a car.
The victim suffered a fractured skull, broken thigh and shoulder injury.
The older boy has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
DI Scott McGrath of force CID North said: "Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area while forensic investigations and witness interviews are being carried out.
"However, I would urge anyone in the community who saw what happened to get in touch with police to assist us in our ongoing inquiries."
