Detectives investigating a distraction burglary in Stoke-on-Trent have charged a man.
Thomas Doherty, 54, of Boathouse Road, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with a burglary dwelling and theft on Scotia Road in Burslem on Monday (18 May).
Richard Doherty, 42, of Boathouse Road, Stoke-on-Trent, has also been charged with fraud by false representation after cash was handed over from an address on Brakespeare Street in Goldenhill on Monday (18 May).
The pair appeared at North Staffordshire Magistrates Court this morning (21 May) and have been remanded until their next court appearance.
A 55-year-old man from Warrington who was arrested yesterday (20 May) has been released without charge.
