The widow of a man who died following an assault six months ago today (22 May) has paid tribute and issued a new picture of her husband in a bid to help bring those responsible to justice.
Stan Bacioiu, 44, who lived in Burton-on-Trent but was originally from Romania, died on 1 December following an assault on Uxbridge Street on Friday 22 November where a report of men fighting inside an address was received at around 9.30pm.
A disorder involving around 14 people started inside an address before spilling out onto the street where Stan was injured.
Colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene and Stan was taken to Nottingham Queen’s Hospital in critical condition where he sadly died over a week later.
His widow, Madalina, said: “Stan’s passing has left a huge void in my heart that nothing and no one will ever be able to fill."
Detective Inspector Zoe Kelsall, from the force’s Major and Organised Crime Department, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have any information, no matter how big or small, that may be able to assist us with our investigation.
“We are as determined today as we were on the day that this incident took place to find those responsible. Someone knows who did this to Stan and we are renewing our appeal for information.
“We want to get justice for Stan and all of his family that have been left devastated following his death almost six months ago.
