Murder inquiry launched after body found in Stoke-on-Trent

Police have launched a murder inquiry after the body of a woman was found at an address in Knypersley, Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers were called to a house in Tunstall Road at 7.05pm last night (Sunday 22 March).
After forcing entry, they found the body of a 70-year-old woman. She is not being named at this stage.
A post mortem will take place in due course, but the death is being treated as suspicious.
Detectives are carrying out forensic enquiries at the scene and officers will be doing house-to-house enquiries.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Cheryl Hannan, said: “Enquiries are at an early stage but we are appealing for anyone in the Tunstall Road area, who may have seen anything suspicious or who may have information to contact detectives.”
