A teenage boy was arrested on suspicion of wounding following an assault which took place in Chesterton, Newcastle-under-Lyme yesterday evening (June 25).
Officers attended an address in Victoria Street, Chesterton, following reports a man had been struck with a weapon at around 7pm.
The boy, aged 16, from the local area, remains in custody.
A man has been taken to hospital with cuts and swelling. His condition is not believed to be life threatening.
We thank local residents for their support and patience while this incident was resolved safely.
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 referring to incident 758 of 25 June.
