Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 60s was assaulted in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
At around 1.45pm on Friday 24 January, a 68-year-old woman was walking along Clough Street when she was approached by a man and a woman.
They pushed her to the ground as they demanded money and searched her coat pockets.
The woman handed over cash before they both made off towards Etruria Vale Road.
Fortunately she did not sustain any serious injuries, but was left bruised and shaken by the incident.
The man is described as white, around 50-years-old, 5ft 8ins tall, with dark short hair with blonde tips. He was wearing dark clothing.
The woman is described as white, around 30-years-old, 5ft 4ins tall, with long blonde hair. She was wearing a light blue coat.
Enquiries are on-going and officers are keen to trace a man and woman who stopped to help the victim, as they may be able to help with the investigation.
Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident 488 of 24 January.
